First Doctor's Appointment

We had your first doctors appointment today. You really did not like it at all. As a matter of fact, you peed on his table! You gained 2 ozs. which puts you up to 8 lbs.

These entries are getting shorter and shorter because you require 100% of my time - and I love every moment!

Little girl - it is called due date for a reason

She's late. Today was my 40 week appointment. The doctor that I saw today was so complacent. She didn't even want to do an internal. I wasn't having it and spoke to the manager there. All the other doctors I have seen at the short time I have been at this practice have been wonderful - except this boob!

She eventually did an internal and I was nowhere. I had nothin. On my due date - no effacement, no dilation. I am devastated. I have an appointment scheduled for 41 weeks but hoping I will not need it!

"Big" Ultrasound

So Friday we went for our "big" ultrasound. We already knew the sex of the baby, so we were going to check out all the major organs, 10 fingers, 10 toes...etc.

Now, let me say that I am NOT a fan of my obstetricians office. There is only 1 doctor at the office which means every time we see her, she rushes so quickly through everything. Hello? First timer here?! I have questions, comments, concerns! The other person you see at this office is a certified nurse midwife. She does not rush, which is nice, however her and the doctor have two totally different points of view!!! The midwife is all about natural birthing and hypnobirthing, while the doctor is quite the opposite. It is really frustrating to hear that I am not gaining enough weight one week, and then the following month I see the doc and she says I am fine... it sends me fuming out of the office...

AANNYYWAYS.. We had the doctor for our ultrasound. She was in a pissy mood for one reason or another, chewing out a nurse right before she entered our room. They were all out of printer paper, so we did not get any new pics of our little one- this angered me enough - this is the only way our family can see Munckie. She rushed through so fast that I had to slow her down and ask her WTF we were looking at.

All in all, brain looks good, 10 fingers, 10 toes, bladder, kidneys, belly - all good. Munckie was laying face down so in order to see the her, doc was monitoring through her back. She couldnt definitively see four chambers. She said when I go back in two weeks for a glucose test, we could check it again

Bottom line - Munckie is doing great and I can't wait to move so I can get a new OB - hopefully before the little one makes her way into the world!!

First Visit

Today was our first appointment. It was a Nurse's Meet and Greet, as they called it. We went in expecting paperwork and getting to know you's. We got that, plus we saw the Munckie.

This is my first time ever having a pregnancy visit. I am absolutely clueless. The nurse took me into the office and acted like I was old hat at all of this. I go into the bathroom, pee in a cup (p.s.-which I am horrible at) and bring it out with me. Apparently this is incorrect, the pee pee cup has to go through this little door. Fail numero uno.

We went into the room and sat there while our nurse paced the halls for literally 10 minutes. In correlation with the issues I had last Saturday, I was convinced she was thinking of a way to tell me that we are not pregnant anymore. Well, still pregnant but I got scolded for not drinking enough water. Fail.

Nurse asked all sorts of question and gave us plenty of advice. We got a bag full of goodies, a planner, PNV's, and heat patches for my back pain - Yay!

Then we went to the ultra sound room.

She found the baby quickly and we saw our little Munckie moving it's head and hanging out. Most important; we saw the heartbeat.

After that I had too much blood drawn and was sent home, told to return in 2 weeks. That appointment will be a visit with the doctor. We can't wait. Just happy everything is good in there!
