27 Weeks

How far along? 27 weeks

Total weight gain/loss:
I GAINED A POUND!!! I am pretty pumped about this!

Maternity clothes?
When I go out of the house, maternity clothes it is. Otherwise, I am sportin a tiny pair of shorts and a sports bra. It is EXTREMELY unattractive but it is about 87 degrees down here daily and I am hott!

Sleep:
Sleep has sucked the past few nights but surprisingly, it is not pregnancy related. I am, however, noticing that it takes much more energy to roll over.

Best moment this week:
Bug put his ear to my belly and heard Munckie's heart beat. Oh, just seeing his face brought tears to my eyes.

Belly Button:
I was never able to see to the "back" of my belly button, but now I definitely can. Gettin shallow!

Attitude: So excited with all of the recent movement. Not so excited about all the recent turns my body has taken. Hello stretchies!!

Food cravings: Still fast food unfortunately. Oh, and fish.. I could really go for some salmon or something.

Food aversions:
Still not a fan of cheese apparently.

Gender: Princess <3

Labor Signs: Just the Braxton Hicks

What I miss: Going up and down stairs without being winded.

What I am looking forward to: Munckie's first NASCAR race this weekend!

Weekly Wisdom: Video tape the movement if you can. I am glad I have it on tape so I can always remember some of her earliest movements.

Milestones: Entered the third trimester this week... yikes!

26 Weeks

How far along? 26 Weeks

Total weight gain/loss:
Still down 17 lbs. from pre-preggers

Maternity clothes?
Right now I am sportin my maternity swim suit. Owe Owe!!

Sleep:
My Mommie bought me a body pillow. I spend a lot of the night tossing and turning, but it does help me initially fall asleep. After that it winds up on the floor and Mr. Bristol uses it as a pillow.

Best moment this week:
Being told that I was glowing.

Symptoms:
Major emotional roller coaster this week!

Movement:
I have a female Lawerence Tynes in there and she is
killin me!

Belly Button:
I think it is getting a little shallow but it was way to deep from the beginning to pop...I hope.

Attitude:
Frustrated since we are not sure where we will be when she is born and I want to start touring the hospital, working on the nursery..etc.

Food cravings:
Greasy fast food cheeseburgers. My wonderful hubby allowed me to indulge at cook out last night : )

Food aversions:
Milk by itself

Gender:
Little princess

Labor Signs:
Braxton Hicks have started. Had them twice this past week.

What I miss:
Being able to bend down without sticking my ass in the air

What I am looking forward to:
Bug's parents are being so generous and purchasing the baby furniture. Cant wait to see it!

Weekly Wisdom:
Don't try to do it all. You ARE pregnant and need to take it easy. Don't get discouraged that you can't do it all either.

Milestones:
Began getting Braxton Hicks contractions

Traveling Baby

At 26 weeks, the baby can still change positions very easily. At our last appointment, she was head down, face down. Perfect position for birth.

Last night, I had my first taste of how it will be when the baby drops. She was really low in my pelvis all afternoon. After dinner, I went to get off of the couch and almost could not walk. It was like my legs had been dislocated because of the shape my pelvis was in.

So to you ladies who have gone through this, how the heck do you deal with that awkward pain? I do not think I would get off the couch if there is nothing to do for the discomfort. I will put myself on bedrest :P

Braxton Hicks

Well HelloooOooooOoo!

I thought I would at least be in the third trimester before these came along but today and Saturday, they are around full force. I was told that unless I get 4 in an hour, not to worry. What I was not told was what to do if I get one that LASTS almost an hour....water helps

At least they are not painful, just a major discomfort. Makes me feel like I am getting closer to meeting our little Munckie.

Best part? I said to bug, "I think I am having contractions." He looked at me like a scared little kid. I think we will have to spend some time talking about the birthing process since my doc said the class was a waste...

Red Dog Pacifier

It is a sweet little beanie that holds onto a soothie pacifier. My friends who already have babes swear by them. THey come in all different animals and are machine washable. I am dying to get a few for Munckie. Currently, there is one being given away over at http://themommamaven.blogspot.com/. It ends the 24th and I am dying to win one!!!

"Big" Ultrasound

So Friday we went for our "big" ultrasound. We already knew the sex of the baby, so we were going to check out all the major organs, 10 fingers, 10 toes...etc.

Now, let me say that I am NOT a fan of my obstetricians office. There is only 1 doctor at the office which means every time we see her, she rushes so quickly through everything. Hello? First timer here?! I have questions, comments, concerns! The other person you see at this office is a certified nurse midwife. She does not rush, which is nice, however her and the doctor have two totally different points of view!!! The midwife is all about natural birthing and hypnobirthing, while the doctor is quite the opposite. It is really frustrating to hear that I am not gaining enough weight one week, and then the following month I see the doc and she says I am fine... it sends me fuming out of the office...

AANNYYWAYS.. We had the doctor for our ultrasound. She was in a pissy mood for one reason or another, chewing out a nurse right before she entered our room. They were all out of printer paper, so we did not get any new pics of our little one- this angered me enough - this is the only way our family can see Munckie. She rushed through so fast that I had to slow her down and ask her WTF we were looking at.

All in all, brain looks good, 10 fingers, 10 toes, bladder, kidneys, belly - all good. Munckie was laying face down so in order to see the her, doc was monitoring through her back. She couldnt definitively see four chambers. She said when I go back in two weeks for a glucose test, we could check it again

Bottom line - Munckie is doing great and I can't wait to move so I can get a new OB - hopefully before the little one makes her way into the world!!

I am not dead

I have neglected this blog for the past few months for an array of reasons, but mostly because the morning sickness got the best of me, and then, well, life happened and I am stuck in the fast lane. I feel bad and appreciate the e-mails from those of you who were checking in.

I missed blogging. When I can't rant to my husband, or when my mom is too busy to talk, this was a great place for me to come. I plan on getting back into it, but OHHHH how to update on the last 3 months. I shall do my best.

We decided we are moving back to NY. We rescued an abandoned dog. Found out we are having a girl!!!!

25 Weeks

How far along? 25 weeks

Total weight gain/loss: Down 18 lbs. from pre-pregnancy. Haven't gained a lb. back. Every office visit, I hope to step on the scale and see a little jump (never thought I would say that) but no. The doctor is not concerned, so I am not concerned...too much.

Maternity clothes? I can't fit in any of my normal clothing. The doc said I have a short torso and that is the reason I began showing so early and go big so fast. I can't tell you how many times I have had to say "yes it is just one baby in there." I was lucky to have some hand me down maternity clothes from family because they are damn expensive!! Oh, I bought the cutest maternity bathing suit. Nice little tankini - can't wait for summer!

Sleep: If I "sleep" for 10 hours, it means I really slept for about 8. The constant tossing and turning combined with discomfort from my back kinda sucks. Plus it is HOTT. I have the a/c on and if I turn it down any more, Bug will have icicles hanging from his nostrils. I have a body pillow now, but because our bed is so small, it gets the heave-ho half way through the night. Plus, I am so big now that it takes EFFORT to turn over. Not a pretty sight.

Best moment this week: This past week? Hmm, spending time with both our families. We do not see them often, so this is nice. Plus, baby girls movement is getting SERIOUS! She kicks like she is trying to get out!

Symptoms: Just the most sever back pain ever. Other than that - fabulous.

Movement: When I first felt it back in week 14, it was these soft little flutters. When Bug and I could begin to feel it from the outside at week 20, same thing, sweet little kicks and flutters. In the past 2 weeks, she has gotten so strong. Not only can I feel her kicks and punches, but I can feel her rolling across my stomach.

Belly Button: It is still really deep. I have always had a cave, so it is still deep but beginning to shallow slightly. I no longer have a regular belly button ring in, but one of those preggie rings. It is pretty cool and the tightness is gone.

Attitude: Friday is our "Big Ultrasound". Why my doctor waits this long when everyone else does theirs at 20 weeks is beyond me. Bug and I are both PUMPED but nervous. I think that sums up the whole pregnancy - pumped but nervous.

Food cravings: Everything. I eat everything in sight, that is why I do not understand how I am not gaining weight. Most recent cravings are coffee coolatas and sandwiches from my college cafe.

Food aversions:
There are times when I am in no mood for veggies or meat. Other than that, I will take anything, anytime.

Gender: Feeeeemale

Labor Signs: Started feeling braxton hicks recently

What I miss: Being able to move around with ease

What I am looking forward to: Seeing Munckie on the sonogram tomorrow. Have not seen her since 15 weeks.

Weekly Wisdom: No matter how bad or rough you think it is, it really just gets worse as the time goes on, so embrace it!

Milestones: Just passed V-day. Viability day (24 weeks) is the earliest a baby can survive outside of its mother. God forbid there was an incident, I know she could try her best to survive. However, I am keeping her in there under lock and key till at least mid-August!
