My wonderful husband was home sick today. REAL sick. He is coughing like there is an explosion in his chest. SO romantic! BUT, because he was home sick, he got up and made me breakfast. What a wonderful day to start off the most romantic day of the year. Even if I am pretty sure my eggs were surrounded by used up tissues.
So, after breakfast, we headed to the doctors. He has a sever sinus infection - gross! 3 prescriptions later and I had him home, toasty in bed so he could relax.
On our way home, he informed me that we had 6:30 dinner reservations. Considering how he was feeling, I tried to talk him out of it, but he insisted and would not tell me where we were headed.
I dressed LB up in her beautiful Valentine's Day outfit, got ready myself, and we headed out the door. Dinner wound up being at Red Ginger. One of my favorite restaurants. I know he chose that just for me because he would much preferred a steak house! Dinner was amazing. He gave me chocolates, he gave LB and I a dozen long stem roses, and he gave me a gift from the boys as well. He is the sweetest <3.
In the middle of dinner, LB had a blow out. Happy Valentine's Day Mommy! Nothing says "I love you" like a pig poop!
After stuffing myself with sushi, we were headed out. On the way out, the waitress handed me a rose and 6 chocolate covered strawberries. I love Valentine's Day!
We gave LB a float for Florida and the book "counting Kisses". She looked amazing in her outfit.

New Year's Eve's in Review
New Year's Eve - 2006
I had bronchitis and was also getting over the flu. Regardless, I got silly drunk with my BF (now DH) and a group of friends. We played beer pong in our basement, ate all of the left over food in the house, as we had ridiculous munchies, and did not go to bed till around 7 A.M.. We got up at 9 A.M. because we were hopping on a plane along with his family to go to Disney for the week. Hungover + no sleep = Cranky Bitch Anastasia
New Year's Eve - 2007
Now engaged, my fiance, three of our friends, and myself went out to dinner at an all you can eat sushi bar. We. Took. Advantage! When we got home, we went into the basement and played "Civil War" beer pong. If you have never played, ask me for the rules. It is a sick game and way more intense than regular pong. Later more friends and neighbors came over and we all watched the ball drop together. We stayed up till about 3 A.M. and partied pretty hard.
New Year's Eve - 2008
Still engaged, my fiance, sister and I went to the same restaurant for all you can eat sushi. Again, stuffed myself to beyond capacity. We went to a friend's home after dinner. We played rock band, had entirely too many shots and rang in the New Year all together. Got home around 4, and went to sleep around 5 A.M.. The hangover was immense and I swore I would never drink again.
New Year's Eve - 2009
My first married and knocked up New Year's. Since we have moved, we no longer have Red Ginger for all-you-can-eat sushi. My wonderful husband found a great sushi place. I can only eat the cooked stuff so my menu was limited but I still managed to stuff myself silly. The restaurant was great. Not a chain so it had a very homey feeling. We met the owner and he was hysterical. At one point he came over to us and said to Bug, "You look full, want me to burp you?". I almost projected my nirvana roll all over the table. At around 9 P.M. we headed home. I.went.to.bed. Yes, I went to bed at 9 on New Year's. Egh..Bug was not having that so he grabbed me and dragged me downstairs. Somehow, utilizing toothpicks and crazy glue, I kept my eyes open. For the first time in my life, I could not wait for the ball to drop. After Dick Clark's very sweet, yet screwed up countdown and a very sexy Happy New Year's kiss, we went to bed. I was in bed at 12:07 A.M.. I felt pretty pathetic but apparently this baby has an "Early to bed, early to rise attitude". While I do not agree, all of this is well worth it.
Happy New Year!

Slacker
Aren't I terrible, I have not written in this blog in almost a week. Bad, bad blogger. Anyways.. It was quite an eventful week, hence why I could not get to a computer. Here is a rundown of my life over the past week.
Wednesday - We hopped in the truck to start the long trek to NY. The 9 1/2 hour trip took us just under 12 hours. Why? Because some disgruntled citizen of Whythville, NC decided to strap a bomb to himself and threaten a post office. Traffic was being diverted everywhere and we sat in traffic for hours. What could have happened in this man's life to make him do something like this the day before Christmas Eve?
After the 8th or 9th hour I began to get so uncomfortable. You would have thought I was 5 months pregnant instead of 5 weeks. Back pain, tremendous cramps and the round ligament pain kicked in full force. I was beginning to think something was wrong with Munckie because of how crampy and horrible I felt. Bottom line - Munckie is still good.
We put a shirt on Colby that said Big Brother. It took them over ten minutes to see it and understand it.
Thursday - Christmas Eve was nice. I spent all day cooking, baking & eating with my MIL. Unfortunately I was on my feet all day which gave me some seriously swollen ankles, but more on that later. Bug waited until his entire extended family arrived at the house and then jumped on the couch to make an announcement. (Totally unlike him if you have ever met him. He was just so excited) He clanged a spoon against his glass and told everyone that we are going to have a baby. There were lots of "ooh's" and "aahh's" and then two seconds later it hit his Grama and there was a loud "WOW". It was really cute.
Friday - We woke up bright and early (six am) to give Colby his gifts and exchange with each other. Bug gave me an "Our First Baby" Christmas ornament, Belly Laughs by Jennie McCarthy, candy, a few things for the baby, chocolate and one more surprise gift to come. He loved his gifts as well. Around 7:30, we opened gifts with MIL & FIL and had breakfast. When we were done we drove to NJ to be with my family. After breakfast, we exchanged gifts. Man are we spoiled. After all Christmas gifts had been opened, my mom gave me a bag of maternity clothes, B-Band, "What to expect", and lotions for the belly. It was really nice and yes, already wearing the B-Band.
The rest of Christmas was spent with my extended family. Everyone started referring to me as "Mom", which I kinda loved. The ankles were huge again. Not sure if I am eating too much salt or just on my feet too much. Who knows.
Saturday - My mother, sister and I went to the movies to see "The Blind Side". It was a very inspirational movie. Brought a few tears to my eyes. Later that evening, we all went out to dinner at one of our favorite local Bar/Restaurants. It was great and nice to just kick back after all of the Holiday Hullabaloo.
Sunday and Monday were spent driving home and relaxing. The drive home was not as bad as the drive up and I was even able to get comfortable. Bug needed a day of rest after all of the driving so it was very convenient that he had Monday off.
Overall it was a great "First Married" Christmas and very nice to see both sides of the family to share our news.

Happy Holiday News
As it turns out, we have found a way to get me to NJ so that I can do my annual shopping trip with my Daddy. I am all smiles today. DH broke down and bought me a plan ticket.
Bonus: while I am up there, my family and I are going into the city and seeing a play!

Here comes Sata Claus!
Today was a day of decorating in this lil house. We got out all of the decorations. Our plan was to decorate outside first in case it got dark. We dragged all of the icicle lights outside and Bug took the extension ladder off of his work truck. We set up the ladder, I climbed halfway to the tallest peak and it was then that I realized that I am not afraid of heights, but I respect them.
The peaks were way too tall to decorate by hand. It just was not going to happen. I thought maybe it would be easier to climb on the roof and lay on my belly to do it by hand instead of on the ladder. Well, pictures of my father freaking out because he is so afraid of heights that when I would clean the gutters, he would tie me to the chimney. SO, I decided against laying on the roof.
We went to Lowe's and discovered a nifty pole that extended and had clips for the lights. It was perfect. We took it home. After 9 hours, hanging out windows, and having more shingle rocks fall in my eyes than necessary, it was finished. & it looked beautiful! We completed the look with Candy Canes down the driveway and some other lights here and there.
I am so excited for the Holiday season! - ran out of time to do the inside, so that will be tomorrows task

Gobble Gobble!
Our first Turkey day was a success. I cooked it all - Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, corn, candied yam balls, string bean casserole, gravy, mac & cheese, biscuits, pumpkin pie & death by chocolate.
We got up early so that we could start the turkey and watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade like we do every year. We had a few mimosas with pomegranate seeds which is our own little Tradition.
We had our friend Doug over and the three of us had a serious feast. Even Colby got his own plate of stuffing and turkey. The tryptophan must have tuckered him out because he dragged his bed into the dining room and collapsed!
After we ate dinner, we went to our friends home for dessert. We stayed there for a few hours, watched the pathetic excuse for the NY Giants and then came home and crashed.
I look forward to doing this again. It was exhausting but totally worth it. Maybe next year we will even have an addition to the fam!
